CK Talent Management, announced today that they have finalized plans for Ultrarunner Jared Fetterolf to compete in China. Fetterolf was formally invited as a Competitor to compete in the first Badwater competition in China.
Fetterolf was formally invited by Badwater's race Director Chris Kotsman and Representatives from the XingZhi Yunnan Co. Ltd who are the joint organizers of the race. The race will take place on November 18 and 19 in Tengchong, Yunnan Province, China. The Mt. Gaoligong 100-Mile Trail Ultra will feature 24,000 feet of elevation and a variety of terrains. The race hopes to become one of the "must do" races in the ultra calendar, and Fetterolf hopes that he can conquer the debut event.
Fetterolf has excelled in 2016, taking first place in two of the Badwater races this year. However, Fetterolf knows that running the Mt. Gaoligong 100-Mile Trail Ultra will offer new challenges."The extremely high altitude will count as the toughest challenge I have faced coming from Dallas, Texas," Fetterolf said. "The terrain will also be a factor, being a technical single-track trail."Despite the challenges, the ultrarunner knows he must continue his usual training routines to extend the run of success he is currently on."I am extremely honored to be selected to compete in the inaugural race in China," Fetterolf said.
The Mt. Gaoligong 100-Mile Trail Ultra is part of the Badwater series of races. Self-described as the "world's toughest races," Badwater's race director Chris Kostman teamed up with XingZhi Yunnan Co. Ltd, to put the race together.
Fetterolf will be one of a limited number of runners competing in the event. He knows that there will be tough competition converging on Mt. Gaoligong. "There will be a cap of 200 runners.” Badwater Chairman Chris Kotsman said. Other runners include Mick Thwaites of Australia, Luigi Dessy of Puerto Rico, and a few others will be top contenders and difficult to beat."
Fetterolf hopes that each step in the 100-mile Mt. Gaoligong ultra race leads him to his next adventure in the growing sport.
"I want to make new connections and friends while in China. I appreciate all help from my sponsors especially, Zensah and Recon Instruments the help and support they have provided to me,” Fetterolf said.
“I believe Jared will finally have his chance to be king of the mountain at Mt. Gaolingong China.” – Craig Rogalski, Managing Partner CK Talent Management, Inc.
